Salesforce Lightning is the new user interface for the Salesforce Platform.

As Schoolworks is a ‘app’ built on the Salesforce Platform, then we can leverage the benefits of Lightning to our customers.

Lightning Benefits

  • New modern pages and fonts

  • More modular and customisable page layouts for more intuitive display and access to data

  • Faster screen load times as data is more modular

  • Vastly Improved Reports and Dashboards

Technically, Lightning is a more modern web browser technology which will deliver a better overall user experience.

 

How do I access it?

Once your version of Schoolworks has been upgraded and Lightning is enabled for your ORG, you will see a new ‘Switch to Lightning Experience’ link at the top of the page.

To enable Lightning, just click on the link - and that’s it!

 

 

 

How do I get back to Classic?

Getting back to the older ‘classic’ user experience isn’t quite so obvious - you need to click your user icon (top right) open the drop down options, and click ‘Switch to Classic’.

 

Can I switch to and fro?

Yes - no problem at all.
