List Views
This article explains the List View functionality and how to switch between List Views.
List Views
Many of the screens in Schoolworks display List Views of the Object you are looking at, for example lists of Accounts or Enrolments.
When you load the screen, it will default to show you a list of your Recently Viewed records of the Object. In the following example, we are looking at the Account records that have been recently viewed by this user:
Multiple List Views can be created to display filtered lists - for example, a list of Students only or Agents only; or further filters can be applied to display more specific lists. Some common examples of lists are:
Students Here This Week
Students Leaving This Week
Students Arriving Next Week
The columns that appear in each List View can also be customised, for example, for a list of Accommodation Providers, it may be helpful to show the street address, but for a list of Teachers, it maybe more desirable to display other details from the record. A maximum of 15 columns can be displayed in each list.
Your Schoolworks system comes packaged with a range of pre-built List Views. These can be selected by:
Clicking on the drop down arrow
Selecting the List View:
You can click on the record name to go through to see the record details in full.
List Views are a great way to see key information quickly. Depending on your user permissions, you may be able to create your own List Views, and you may be able to share List Views with other users or groups of users, or make them available to all. It is also possible in many cases to edit the details of the record directly from the list without having to enter the record to make the changes. It is even possible to make bulk changes to a number of records in one go, which can save a lot of time.
It is worth taking a moment to click through the different List Views available to familiarise yourself with the current configuration of your system.
Please speak to your System Administrator if you would like any changes made to the packaged List Views, or if you would like permissions to manage these yourself.
