Auto Classing (on Course Booking)

• It is possible have have Schoolworks automatically create a Class placement (class a student) based on a course booking.

• There are configuration settings on the Course Service record and the Class record which enable and control how this feature behaves.

Course Service setting

• Auto Placement - this when ticked, switches on the auto class placement feature; subject to the related Class records having their Auto Placement tickbox ticked

• Auto Placement Count - this when ticked controls the number of class placements which will be created - subject to the related Class records having their Auto Placement tick box ticked.

• Typically this would be set to ONE but might be TWO if the Course allows for multiple placements in classes at the same time/date.

• Auto Placement - when ticked, enables this class to be used when a student books a course which has auto placement enabled.

• If more than one class has Auto Placement ticked, then the automatic placement will be done until the Auto Placement Count has been reached for that Course.

• If more than one class is enabled for Auto Placement, depending on the Service Auto Placement count, the assignment of Class is random.
